From Zero to Hero on Richland Chambers!

Photo063After a  couple of WINDY early Weekdays,  and then Cold Mid Week days, we made our first fishing trips of the week on Friday morning. I’m not sure of the reasons WHY the fish didn’t bite but I used all the ones I’d heard over the past 50 years…Cold Front, Barometric Pressure, Water Temps too Cool, Rain, Heat, Blue Bird Skies, The Economy, Washington Politicians, etc. , and still between two boat loads of folks, we caught 13 Keeper fish!!!! During the middle of the trip, I called my Afternoon Customers and tried to talk them out of making the trip from Dallas to fish. They wouldn’t listen because it was a nice day and we’d already rescheduled once this Spring. I’m glad they didn’t listen to me as we put 60 Keepers in the box that Afternoon! I told them the reasons WHY were….Warming Trend, Steady Barometer, Water Temps Just Right, No Rain, Pretty Skies, and a Wonderful Texas Legislature!!!!

Once again, we had gone from ZERO to HERO in less than a couple of hours!!!

It is amazing that the Catchin’ can be so different from Morning to Afternoon, but I do believe the Cold Front we had experienced Mid Week had the fish shut down just enough to impact us for a couple of days. From Friday Afternoon on through both our Morning and Afternoon Trips on Saturday, we caught fish. I ended the week with a 50 fish limit for two Gentleman on Saturday Afternoon and Adam had a full box of fish for his three customers! Unless we get another major weather change, I do believe we’re ON for the Great Spring White Bass fishing that RC is known for. Now, all we need is some good Hybrid Striper activity, and a little bit of Crappie action for next week’s Customers!!!!

RSR Slabs ( ) are our “Go To” baits this time of year and will be for much of the Spring. We’ll soon be chunking some Tail Spinners and Rat-L-Traps at fish chasing shad, and then as we move into late Spring/Summer, the Top Water bite will start to show up! In other words, we’re in for Fun and LOTS of fish!!!

Adam and I have a pretty full calendar for the remainder of April. May is now about 50% full and we still have some Saturdays open starting in mid June. Here’s a few Weekdays  we still have at least one boat open and would love to have you occupy a seat:

April 22, 23, 29 & 30

May 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, & 17

Give us a call and Let’s Go Catchin’!
