It’s officially Wintertime and the number of trips Adam and I conduct slows dramatically, but……that doesn’t mean the fish aren’t biting!!! The attached picture of the Becker Family from Arlington was taken Wednesday after a couple of hours of Catchin’ on a cold & windy afternoon. Seems that sometimes the more tough the conditions, the better the bite. This was evident Friday afternoon when we had both boats out and really had to work to catch our fish. The conditions were just the opposite from Wednesday as we had a calm, sunny and actually warm day with temps in the 50’s. Guess the fish just didn’t like the pleasant conditions!!! 🙂
The White Bass that we catch this time of year are really large and we’ll be catching them all the way through early Spring when they do their spawn. We’ve not had a good Hybrid Striper bite yet, but normally we have some of our BEST Hybrid catches from now thru April. We continue to catch a few BIG Catfish on our Winter trips, and it won’t be too long (March) before we start talking about the Spring Crappie Spawn.
Here’s a few REMINDERS AND OPPORTUNITIES for you to take advantage of:
*We continue to conduct more late mornings and afternoon trips in the Winter as the temps & the bite are better. The only day we have both boats booked this next week is Thursday, and we even have a BOAT OPEN on Saturday, January 12th.
*Check out the “Winter Special” rates on the website @ www.gonefishin.biz . Our first effort at doing “Party Boat” trips is successful as we have both boats going out this afternoon with fishermen on board at the Party Boat Special Rate! Save 25% off the regular rate!!!
*If you plan on fishing with the Kids at SPRING BREAK, you need to book the trip soon. We have about half the week of March 11th booked already and like last year will not be able to accommodate everyone wanting to fish.
