Richland Chambers Fishing Report for July 20th, 2014

Photo362Almost an entire week of Cloudy, Breezy, Cool and a Little Rain thrown in for good measure resulted in the BEST WEEK of Catchin’ so far this Summer! Only in Texas can you get some much needed rain in July and set record low temperatures in the 60’s for three days! The White Bass really responded with quite a bit of Top Water action on Wednesday thru Saturday, and we had one day when the Top Water was ALL HYBRID STRIPERS for well over an hour! Our Customers caught fish on RSR Slabs & Tailspinners, Rat-L-Traps, Tiny Torpedos, and just about anything else they wanted to throw. It also didn’t seem to matter where you fished as we caught fish on the 309 Flats, Windsock Point, Pelican Island and on Wednesday and Thursday, we never left the Fisherman’s Point Marina area. It’s amazing what the weather change did to the fish as it was an aggressive a bite as we’ve had in a while!!!

We don’t talk much about Catfishing during the Summer, but on Wednesday when I had a cancellation, a friend and I decided to Catfish for a while. We baited a couple of holes with sour maize and range cubes, fished with Danny Kings Punch Bait and promptly put over 20 really nice Channel Cats ranging from 1 lb. to 4 lbs. in the ice chest. Then we went and limited out on White Bass!!!

This week it’s back to normal with the warmer temps and the South Winds, but hopefully we have some of the same action! Adam and I are booked the remainder of July, but we have August openings on both Weekdays and Saturdays we need to fill. Give us a call and Let’s Go Fishin’!

Have a Great Day!
