Richland Chambers Fishing Report for October 1st, 2012

120928_0003What a nice week on Richland Chambers even though we did make the decision to cancel Saturday’s trips and enjoy the much needed rain! I fished combo trips on Monday and Tuesday for early AM Crappie and then on to the White Bass, and had good results on both days! My good friend Ronnie Roberts from the Arlington PD joined me on Monday and we managed to get him a 25 fish limit of Crappie and then caught some White Bass for him to give to a friend. On Tuesday, Kevin & Jeff Pellone from San Antonio caught their Crappie and Whites early as the WIND forced us off the Lake around 10AM. On Friday, the Baird Family (See Picture) from Austin were on board for a White Bass trip and we had the BEST trip I’ve had in several weeks. We put 75 nice big Whites in the ice chest with all coming off the Windsock Point and Old Hwy 287 Roadbed on Chartreuse RSR Minnow Slabs ( ).  All our Crappie came on small minnows in about 20′ water around the 287 Bridge Columns. The Crappie bite should be good through most of October! The Fall Feeding Frenzy for Whites and Hybrids is not far off as the fish are getting a bit easier to find and catch and the size is starting to improve. It won’t be long before we can conduct some Afternoon trips and be comfortable as well as catch lots of fish!

It’s definitely time for you to call or e-mail if you want an October or November trip. All our October Saturdays are booked and Novembers’ are just about taken, but we have lots of Weekdays we need to fill. If you’re planning a Group trip where you need two or more boats, we have a  Part Time Guide (David Bristow) who is helping us through the busy times and can help us meet your needs. Also, if you want to have us do a Shore Lunch Fish Fry for the Group, we’ll be offering this, and can also make accommodations at the Marina’s Lodge or Cabins for you. It doesn’t get much better than an October or November fishing Trip!!!! I used to say October was my favorite fishing month, but in the past couple of years I’ve switched to November. NO ONE is on the Lake, the fish are BIG & EASY and we guarantee a GREAT CATCH!!!

Have a Great Day, Enjoy the Rain and Hope to see you soon!
